Hello, my name is Sherry Crittenden! I am joyfully married to Noah Crittenden, and together we have 2 sons, William and Graham. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I worked as a practice manager for a veterinary clinic. I am a cat person until I die, but dogs aren’t too bad either! I love road-tripping, thrifting, doing my own nails, cooking, and crafting.  Noah is a phenomenal father and husband, I think often about how blessed I am to have someone as hardworking, supportive, patient, and kind as he is.

In order to tell you why I decided to start blogging, we have to go back to 2019 when I rejected the idea that college was a must. I had attended a semester at my local community college, which I very quickly learned was NOT the place for me. From there, I transferred to James River, a Christian Leadership College. This is where my husband encountered God for the first time and gave his life to Him. While I do believe I was meant to be there for that season, I also believe I was meant to be there only for that season, God had other plans. In the midst of this, Noah and I broke up. He was going to be attending Drury University, but I moved home when the semester finished and we went our separate ways. In 2020, I moved back and landed a job as a receptionist at a local veterinary clinic, I had missed the area, and the church. The Ozarks felt like home. In June of 2021, Noah and I reconnected. (That’s a longgg story, for another time!) In May of 2022, he took me on the road trip of my dreams- literally. I had been planning this exact trip since middle school, down to the smallest detail! We drove across Colorado, down through Utah, and then about halfway down Arizona before heading home. Exploring, enjoying good food, taking the scenic route, it was magnificent. Noah booked a photographer to take our photos at Horseshoe Bend to memorialize the trip. This was when he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was the easiest “yes” I have ever said! 5 months later, on October 22, we got married in front of our friends and family. 2 months prior, we had bought our first home. The next month, I was promoted to Practice Manager of the vet’s office. In December, I caught the flu, or so I thought… turns out, we were actually expecting our first son!

In July of 2023, a mere month before William’s due date, my mom and stepdad sold everything they owned in preparation to move to SWMO to be closer to us. Unfortunately, the very next weekend, we got devastating news. My great-grandfather, who was like a father to my mom, had cancer. She couldn’t leave him. My husband and I made a snap decision to uproot our lives and move home- something neither of us had ever thought we would do. The plan had been for my parents to buy a home with enough land that we could start building a home too. We desired to start a small family compound together. Noah and I loved our jobs, he was the warehouse manager for a foundation company and worked with good people. We had it all- great benefits and pay, he had a company vehicle, life was good. But I always knew that I wasn’t going to be comfortable sending my babies to a daycare or public school, so when suddenly my mom wasn’t going to be able to move down and help out, we knew what we had to do.

Their current home has a basement fully equipped to be a second living quarters-bedrooms, a full kitchen, a full bathroom, even a laundry room. It was all we needed for this season of life. We moved home at the perfect time, because just a few days later, my blood pressure skyrocketed and I was being induced!

Moving home was bittersweet, I knew it meant that I would likely have to leave the job that I loved so much but at the same time, I was excited for this new chapter. Now, we are a family of 4, not including the numerous cats(that’s my fault…I had a habit of bringing home my work), dogs, chickens, and a horse to keep us on our toes!

As a stay-at-home mama, I am always looking for ways to get us out of the house or even just trying to find things to do at home. So at night, when both of our babies are finally asleep, you can find me scouring Pinterest and TikTok or brainstorming ideas for new recipes, ways to keep my toddler entertained that doesn’t involve screens, planning future trips, and home inspiration. As a family, we love to explore new places, spend time in the sunshine, and enjoy good food! We aren’t able to travel often, but when we do…we do it right!! Blogging is my way of tying all the things we love into one big knot. It provides an outlet for me to share things with you- from thrifting finds and how I style them, recipes I have created for my family, our travels, and everything in between!! As a bonus, it is also a place to document important moments of our life that we are able to look back on and reminisce about! I want to talk about all of the things with you! Our life and adventures together, life as a stay-at-home mama, making our homes feel and look good, cooking for the family, tips/tricks, our favorite products, the list could go on and on! Nothing is off the table here! I have always loved to read and write, and blogging is my way to stay intentional about it while tying in other things that we love and enjoy as a family! I am excited to share my ideas and thoughts, and can’t wait to connect with like-minded people!

Together, we are the Crittendens… but you can call us the Critts!
